What is nafta?
The North American Free Trade Agreement, or NAFTA, is a treaty between Canada, the United States, and Mexico. The agreement, which has been in effect since January 1, 1994, was made to increase trade across the three nations. By getting rid of tariffs and other forms of import costs, NAFTA has created free trade between the three North American countries. Since the treaty, the economies in all three nations have benefited significantly. However, some problems still remain since the forming of NAFTA.
Why Nafta?
NAFTA is an important topic of research because it effects almost all of us living in North America. Because of reduced or eliminated fees for imported goods, companies are able to make more profit, which in return helps the economy. NAFTA has also improved the relations between the United States, Mexico, and Canada through increasing trade. I personally chose to research NAFTA because it was one of the topics during the economic systems unit. Because of this prior knowledge, NAFTA seemed like the right topic to create a website on.
