Trade routes
Most trade between Canada, the United States, and Mexico takes place on land. Therefore, since the United States is between Canada and Mexico, it contains most of the trading routes between the three countries. Although there are many ways to get from country to country, the same basic route is used within the NAFTA countries. Starting in Mexico, trucks travel north through Texas and Oklahoma to Kansas City. From Kansas City, goods can either be transported into Canada by continuing on north, or by going northeast to reach more populated areas of Canada. Several interstate highways facilitate these NAFTA routes. These include I-35, I-29, I-81, and soon I-69.
