Problems with nafta1) Job Loss:
Due to lower labor costs in Mexico, many companies from the U.S. and some from Canada moved to Mexico in order to make more profit. This caused many people to lose their jobs to Mexico. 2) Lower Wages: Those companies that did stay in the U.S. and Canada had to compete for the lowest prices. Because products were being sold for cheaper, many people in the U.S. and Canada had reduced wages. 3) Mexico's Farm Crisis: Most farms in Mexico rely on human workers to plant and harvest. In the United States, most farms are run by machinery. Because it is cheaper to run machinery than pay individual workers, most farming jobs in Mexico were lost. 4) Mexico's Environment: Due to increases in industry in Mexico and automated farming techniques, Mexico's environment has been negatively affected. Deforestation for factories and larger farms has been the largest issue for the environment. |
